MARK DEMING

As a brand manager and marketing director in the outdoor recreation industry, Mark Deming worked for ten years at the confluence of commerce and conservation, helping companies align their marketing with their values to drive transformative growth while advancing public policy. The experience led to his belief that good business and thoughtful marketing can improve lives and encourage progress. He founded Deming Creative in 2018 to act on that belief.

SARAH DEMING
CAPTAIN OF DISCOVERY

Sarah’s energy, optimism and intellect make her the spiritual guide of Deming Creative as well as our head researcher. She holds a master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and has worked since 2010 as a private consultant to companies and non-profits. She uses her background in qualitative and quantitative analysis to research consumer behaviors and inform effective strategies.

BEN HERNDON
PHOTOGRAPHER/FILMMAKER

Ben is a freelance photographer, writer, and filmmaker based in rugged north Idaho. On the photo side, he gravitates toward adventure, casual recreation, and moments in-between, with the occasional foray into landscapes and history of the Inland Northwest. On the film side, he prefers a more quirky, narrative approach that many find refreshing and some sleep-inducing.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

James specializes in brand identity and print design—focusing on building clean, simple, and timeless brands with people that love what they do. When he’s not at his desk, you’ll find him surfing rivers, skiing off cliffs, and hiking with his family. They love bikes, national parks, winding dirt roads, and that thick smell of the wet forest floor after rain.

Skip Armstrong is an award-winning director + cinematographer whose client list includes Boeing, Air New Zealand, Ford, Toyota, National Geographic, Camp 4 Collective, BF Goodrich Tires, The North Face and more. His films have been awarded at major film festivals including Banff and Telluride.

Will combines his passions for wild places, visual art, and adventure to document some of the planet's most remote and beautiful places. His work has been shown at numberous film festivals, been awarded a Vimeo Staff Pick, and appeared in the pages of National Geographic Magazine.
